2009 SENIOR NON-SENIOR

April 26th, 2009

Chris Clark parties all night long, at hawthorne CC with 100 of his closest friends, to celebrate his coming 50th birthday. He then takes to the tee in his last attempt at the Senior Non-Senior from the younger side. Chris arrives at the tee 5 minutes late(not bad for staying out all night long). His more experienced playing partner, Gregg Bowie, loops the cart back to the tee and carries him around for his birthday. Gregg’s net 66 combined with Chris’s steady play carried the team to a 12 under par six shot victory over the second place team of Rich Lackman and Charles Hill who took the early lead with an eight under par front nine. Playing in his first event as a member of the Men’s Golf Association Spencer Bowling shot the low individual round of the day with a 73 to combine with Russ Hall for a third place finish.

LGA SHAMBLE 2009

April 4th, 2009

The LGA kicked off the tournament season with a sunny but blustery Shamble. Each team had to play three tee shots from every player and then play their own ball into the hole from that point. The best two scores on each hole counted for the team’s score. The winning team of Donna Bowling, Nancy Chicca, Robin Loucks and Laurie Hasenei shot out of the gate with a blistering 60 on the front nine. They finished with a 69 on the backside to claim the title by 5 strokes at 129. The second place team of Jane Spearbeck, Linda Breitinger, Susan Barock and Debbie Reed shot a 134 to capture second place. Their 66 - 68 finish was impeded by chrish and his halftime libations.
